India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, had a major reshuffle just a few months back. It seemed that the Chairman, Dr. Pawan Kant Munjal, was not too happy with the progress of the company’s electric brand, Vida. To change things, he appointed himself as the Chief Mentor for Vida.
Since then, noticeable changes have been seen. Vida’s sales have improved significantly, and the brand has been gaining market share every month.
Incidentally, the only other significant brand gaining market share is Ather Energy, in which Hero is the biggest investor.
Apart from improving sales, we have also seen activity from Vida on the product front. They launched a new scooter, added battery subscription as an option, and finally indicated that their performance-electric motorcycles, in collaboration with Zero, are also getting ready.
Hero is also an investor in Zero Motorcycles, having invested USD 60 million in the California-Netherlands-based manufacturer in March 2023.
At EICMA 2025, Vida finally opened the tap by releasing multiple concepts and some production-ready models.
Hero-Vida-NOVUS
Hero Vida says that NOVUS represents Vida’s ideas of future mobility. They unveiled three interesting concepts.
The first is the NEX 1, a backpack-sized folding scooter that Vida says is lighter than your backpack and can provide mobility in large, closed-door environments like airports, malls, and office complexes.
In a way, this is like Honda’s MotoCompacto and Felo M1, but much smaller.

The second concept is the NEX 2, an electric three-wheeled scooter with tiltable front wheels. This is in the Yamaha Niken mode and seems to be riding on 17″ wheels.

The third concept, the NEX 3, is an electric crossover-quadricycle.

DIRT.E Range
The Dirt-E is Hero-Vida’s planned off-road range of motorcycles. They unveiled the DIRT.E MX7 Racing Concept. This electric motocrosser concept is built on a carbon fiber frame. No specs were shared.

The other motorcycle under the DIRT.E range was the E K3 kids motorcycle range. The talking point is the adjustability of the system that can change the wheelbase, ride height, and suspension travel.

Hero-Zero Range
Next was the UBEX concept, a crossover-style motorcycle. Again, no specs, but Hero has put an Apple CarPlay/Android Auto system in this. This is a co-development with Zero.

Then the VXZ, again a co-development with Zero, points to a naked electric machine. No specs yet, but Hero harps on the connectivity features.
